Changing sides in the editor war !

Written on 2019-03-21 09:36:46 by Alzaï

So when I started studying programming, I felt like working in the terminal was the way to go. It seemed like I could do more things, have more control over what happened and also, it looked cool !

Of course I had to find an editor and nano was not an option. I wanted something shiny !

That's when I started using vim. During five years, I kept fiddling with my config files (that I should add to my dotfiles repo) and I reached a nice level of comfort in my editor. Of course, since I love editing my config, I kept looking for things to change but I couldn't…

Why I do not plan to migrate from GitHub (for now)

Written on 2018-06-06 12:59:00 by Alzaï

With the recent acquisition of Github by Microsoft a lot of devs have been migrating their projects to GitLab.

I did create my acount on GitLab as well as the ForgetfulMuffin group but decided to wait before I migrate.

GitLab has been funded greatly by Google and I am trying to move away from the big tech companies so escaping one for another is not really productive.

The SOS Chain planner is LIVE !

Written on 2017-06-29 13:58:20 by Alzaï

I'm pretty happy with myself as I've finished a long overdue project : The SOS Chain Planner for Pokémon Sun and Moon.

I've spent too many hours on it to be honest but it works and I only have some tweaking to do to make the results a bit better. If ever you're interested in it I'm going to post the code on my GitHub once I've finished commenting it and am happy to get feedback at contact [at]

Next step is setting up https on my web server which is going to be fun (I hope) !

Since apparently I will not have a summer job, I have decided to spend some of my time working on my programming skills.

This means this website will get slightly more updates and the SOS Planner might actually be finished soon ! Yay !

I still have a bit of work before I can concentrate on that but it will be done !

See you soon,
